Ramblings
Been a while!! i've been busy...
Been a while since I have made a blog post (January Being the Last). I could be writing about how i went to the pub to watch Manchester United win the league and spent the whole day drinking and chanting around town, but to me that is just a bit boring for someone to read? I only really enjoy writing about things i feel are worth writing about (e.g. New Websites I am working on, Design/Coding Ideas .etc). For me to write articles and such, i takes me a while.
I have never really been a creative writer, i feel its a bit of a chore.. I know, what am i doing with a blog website right? Well in the next couple of months i hope to have designed and built my next incarnation... a more static website that will act more as a portfolio, but allow me to create articles when i can get around to writing them.
So, until that time. I thought i'd let you see a couple of things i've been working on over the last few months:
The Ruskin Foundation
Lanternhouse International

Musgrave Website Ahoy!!!

Whats that in the distance... no it can't be... it is, Musgrave have a website!!!
As of January 2nd, Musgrave officially have a site live. Granted, it is only a soft launch so we havent got much going on.. but it's at least there. We had made it our goal at Musgrave to get the site up and running by the new year, but due to commitments on our other projects (as has been the case for for years) we had to put some features back a bit.

Lanternhouse International - The site's not on, but everybody's home
We (Musgrave) have just completed the temporary holding page for the Lanternhouse International in Ulverston. Lanternhouse is a purpose-built creative environment, with spaces for planning, making, learning, performance and exhibitions. We are taking on the complete rebuild of the site in the coming months, but the client was keen to have something there while we get to work.

Flash backgrounds - a 'how to'
I have always looked for ways to add interactivity and movement to pages without losing browser functionality and accessibilty. I have been experimenting recently with using Flash as backgrounds to normal, semantic XHTML pages. This idea isn't new, i havent personally seen it implemented but i have seen topics discussing its usage.
My idea was to use the Flash as a moving background, something subtle that would'nt cause the user problems while accessing the content of a page but instead enhance the design and user experience.

More work added... but not a lot of blogging
I have managed to get a couple more projects into my 'work' section this week. I haven't been able to update my site due to the massive amount of work we have going at Musgrave, which has meant the blog has gone untouched for over a month!

Work, Work, Work...

I've started to include some of my work online now... yey!
The work i will be adding is of past and present. Some work i will be including may not be up to the standards i strive to achieve now, but at the time it was an acomplishment for me.
