Musgrave Website Ahoy!!!
Whats that in the distance... no it can't be... it is, Musgrave have a website!!!
As of January 2nd, Musgrave officially have a site live. Granted, it is only a soft launch so we havent got much going on.. but it's at least there. We had made it our goal at Musgrave to get the site up and running by the new year, but due to commitments on our other projects (as has been the case for for years) we had to put some features back a bit.
The plan was to be very unconventional, Paul Musgrave (the big bad boss) and I had lots of discussions on what we wanted to offer visitors to the Musgrave website. Paul really wanted to steer away from what could be classed as the conventional designers website (about, portfolio, contact .etc) and just offer a bit of a teaser into the minds of the staff
Paul designed the website and my job was to then take that design and make sense and apply decent web standards to it. The result is very minimal using layers, slightly chaotic positioning and long thin columns to create a scrolling page that has a nice visual impact without going over board.
At the moment the site gives us at Musgrave a place to post, well, anything we like really (mostly whats going on at Musgrave). But we plan to add functionality to insert case studies of our favorite works, RSS feeds (so you can keep up to date with new happenings) and we are preparing some nice video to really set the home page alive.
The main thing is, we now have a platform to play with, and as most design companies will know getting to that point always gets pushed to the back of the queue... so its a nice feeling
